Thinking about Recettear again. I remember someone complaining about how following Tear’s advice will probably give you a game over, but I feel like it’s thematically important? Tear wants you to soak every customer for as much as you can get away with, because she thinks that’s how business works. But you do a lot better if you consistently give customers fair prices that they’re happy with. These people initially come in and browse with small amounts of cash on hand, just curious to see what you have. If you’re good to them, they start coming back to you specifically and saving up to buy your higher-end wares.

Is it just our imagination, or is there a large segment of people talking about media who don't seem to grasp that characters sometimes believe things which are false? Admittedly, it's been ages since we played this game, so we can't recall how clear the game actually is about Tear's viewpoint being skewed.
