It's kind of like Doodle God, except the elements you're combining are guilt and depression.
My theory: you're not Nima, you're a Marrella. The voice telling you that you need to kill Nima's mother to escape? That's what's left of Nima, and she's seen multiple Marrellas get lobotomized because they didn't bring Nima back "properly" (read: as perfectly obedient as Nima's mother thinks she should be.) You hate yourself and call yourself a monster, but you're just a confused animal forced to grapple with concepts far beyond you.
