Thinking about the surprisingly common phenomenon where a game’s happiest ending is added as an update or DLC. Blasphemous, Hollow Knight, Omensight, One Way Heroics, The Murder Hotel (update pending!), arguably Asura’s Wrath, and I’ve been told Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion pulled this as well. If you play the game to completion when it comes out, you might not even know there is a happier ending than what you got. So you effectively reward players for waiting to give you money until after everything is properly compiled.
