Oct. 9th, 2025 07:18 pmOkay, so I never actually read Theodor Adorno. But I saw a post criticizing K-Pop Demon Hunters that called it fascist. The hunters severely outclass the demons, and according to OP, Adorno says fascist art has the fascists stomp hopelessly outmatched non-fascists.
Every time I hear fascists talk, they sound like they’re about to wet themselves in terror of non-fascists. They keep justifying ever-escalating force as the only way to survive in the face of the horrors non-fascists want to rain down on them, even when “the horrors” are unarmed people running away from them. So I think Adorno takes the L on this one.
Then again, they also seem to think they’re guaranteed to win if they can use full force without any of those pesky laws or human rights treaties in the way. Maybe that’s what Eco meant when he said Fascists think the enemy is both strong and weak.
