feotakahariThis one fanfic writer has two stories that divide the world into interesting people and boring people. The interesting people all hang out and are interesting together, and the boring protagonists get their happy endings by becoming interesting and getting to hang out as well.
I once read a story where the main character reads Cinderella and hates it. Cinderella’s story is about being treated as low status, then being treated as high status, and the main character thinks a better ending would be an escape from this system that assigns statuses to people. (This character is autistic and describes Cinderella as getting a “neurotypical” happy ending.) Anyway, that’s what these fanfics make me think of.
