Black Souls 2’s take on fairy tales is pretty dismissive most of the time. E.g. The Wizard of Oz has a house caught in a hurricane crash-land and kill the occupant. But I genuinely like its take on The Ants and the Grasshopper. When the ants refuse to feed the grasshopper, he decides to survive no matter what. He eats any filth and waste he can find so long as it will keep him from starving, not caring as his body warps. Spring comes, and the ants emerge to find an enormous shadow looming over them, bellowing “FOOD!”
