Feb. 1st, 2026 09:01 amIt is really hard for me to communicate to other people that I don’t believe in the concept of earning food through work. Work needs to be done somehow, and giving food as a reward for it is a simple and straightforward way to organize society, but I don’t think a person who works is inherently “more deserving” than a person who doesn’t work. So for instance, I say “people shouldn’t be expected to do a job if a machine can do it just as well,” and people think I mean “people should starve if a machine can do their job.” Whether a machine does your job is irrelevant to whether you need food!
