D20 rolls often feel too swingy to me, and this is worse than usual because stat bonuses cap out at +5 for most builds. Give me a DC 20 roll, and no matter how much equipment I pile on, I’m screwed on a roll below 15. (Granted, I’ve seen circumstance bonuses that are something like +17, but that’s not exactly common.)
