Thinking about whether you could merge Persona with Alan Wake/Control. Polaris is atypical for a Persona, but the Dark Presence makes sense as a cognitive entity like Nyx or Yaldabaoth. We’ve seen cognitive entities with mind control powers before, so the Taken could be a worst-case scenario of that. Ahti is similar in some ways to the Velvet Room entities, and while Hedron and the Board are incredibly weird, they’re not that much farther out there than Philemon and Nyarlathotep. The biggest issue is that Persona has nothing at all like Objects of Power.

I’m genuinely surprised Alan Wake holds up this well ten years later. The enemies’ shadow armor makes for a nice rhythm to combat. Burn the armor, shoot the enemy, and while you’re shooting, your light recharges so you can burn another enemy’s armor. But while you’re burning one enemy’s armor, another came too close for comfort. Consume a battery, and burn its armor too? Use a flashbang to clear them both out? Or save your resources for another time, and rely on your dodges?

Or use a flare as a distraction, then run for dear life. That works too.
