This is the second time I’ve read about a dog breed being wiped out as part of a campaign of genocide against their owners. If I had a nickel . . .

I’m forty levels into Final Fantasy XIV, still waiting for the point people have told me is coming where the plot stops being boring. It keeps building and building on the idea that you’re complicit in genocide, but it still hasn’t done anything with that idea.

A post going around: Harris will “let Palestinian children burn to death” to get more votes, but Trump is even worse. Responses: OP is a “Hitlerite” who supports genocide. I don’t think “supports” is the right word here.

Suppose people A and B live in a stand-your-ground state. A thinks B is threatening them, and B thinks A is threatening them. Whoever survives the shootout is determined to have stood their ground and isn’t legally liable. But whoever died was also standing their ground! The judgment of right or wrong is meaningless, because the goal should have been to not have a situation where people had to stand their ground.

I just saw a post that I’m pretty sure said it was good and necessary for Palestinians to kill Israelis. It didn’t use those exact words, but I can’t think of an alternate way to interpret it. But Israelis justify killing Palestinians because they’re standing their ground! If you argue that you’re standing your ground against Israelis, you’re conceding the logic under which they claim they’re justified to kill you.

Okay, so if I'm getting this right, the complaint that person was making about Fullmetal Alchemist was that in the end, society isn't restructured to prevent another genocide. But I think that's a really tall order to ask of the mangaka. I mean, my society isn't structured to prevent genocide, and I don't think Japan's society is structured to prevent genocide, either. Democracies still participate in genocides, so I don't know what a genocide-preventing society would look like.

Patriot saw Talulah go farther and farther off the deep end, but he didn’t stand up against her. He knew that if he did, some people would follow him and some people would remain loyal to Talulah, and the infighting would destroy Reunion as a movement.

Reed saw Eblana go farther and farther off the deep end, and she’s finally standing up against her. She’s explicitly splitting Dublinn, calling for Tarans to rally under her instead of under Eblana.

Reunion seems a lot less evil now that Talulah/Kaschey are no longer in charge. It remains to be seen if Dublinn can be salvaged. Hopefully, Eblana goes down before Victoria finishes dealing with Theresis and focuses its full attention on killing everyone who might possibly be associated with Dublinn.

I wanted to post this on that “left-wing Holocaust denial” post that’s going around, but I’m already blocked, so I’ll say it here instead:

I strongly suspect the reason the post was written was to launder the Palestinian genocide, and every other aspect of the post was added to support that purpose.
