Jun. 11th, 2022 08:19 pmOne genuinely good idea in Evenicle: there’s this guy who wants to be a hero because he thinks it will get him women and power, but isn’t brave enough or smart enough to accomplish much. At first, everything about him seems like he’s going to be an unfortunate comic relief character who supports/mirrors the MC and ultimately helps to save the day. (If you read Spy x Family, the guy who sells spy gadgets and keeps failing to get a date is a good example of this archetype.)
Anyway, the guy in Evenicle keeps getting a little more sinister, and a little more sinister, and a little more sinister beyond that. He really doesn’t give a shit about all these women he flirts with beyond thinking they’re attractive -> He seems to think the only important part of being a hero is being seen as a hero -> Holy shit, he just abandoned a woman to a lynch mob to save his own skin.
