I’m playing Monster Girl Quest: Paradox
May. 22nd, 2022 01:50 pmThis game does the same thing Suikoden does, where you get a massive number of potentially useful characters, and you will never use most of them because they’re outclassed. I’m interested in the monster nun from a church that’s normally anti-monster, but not interested enough to replace the healer I’ve had since the start of the game. And I tried using the scientist who accidentally turned herself into a bug and scrambled her memories, but then I got a plot-important character who filled the same niche but better. The only reason I’m still using the underpowered thief from the start of the game is sheer spite.

Feb. 8th, 2021 06:25 amIn the best scene in Monster Girl Quest, you go to a bar run by monsters, and find a monster-hating villain just chilling there. He doesn't want to fight, so you peacefully discuss his worldview before he takes his leave.

Jul. 28th, 2019 04:50 pmThis game does not fuck around with Chimera Beasts. None of the characters know what these things are or where they came from, they don't talk except to robotically describe what their next attack will be, and they never showboat or mess around or do anything to distract them from killing you and eating you. But the capstone is how the Cursed Sword interacts with them. See, the sword removes the magic power from what it defeats. A monster that used to be human will become human again, a kitsune will become a fox, a kraken will become a squid, etc. Chimera Beasts are described as looking like wildly differing monster parts smushed together. And when they're defeated, they turn into bloody chunks of meat.

Jul. 28th, 2019 12:26 amLuka finds insect monsters slaughtering defeated, helpless plant monsters. He attacks and drives them off.
The plant monsters declare that they don't want to fight, and enlist him to "end this war." He single-handedly incapacitates the insect queen.
The plant monsters immediately start slaughtering the defeated, helpless insect monsters. They'll "end this war" once all the insect monsters are dead.
Luka starts attacking the plant monsters, and keeps bashing heads until both sides stop killing and start listening.
Me: Good, good. Give in to the Utilitarian side.
