I’m generally skeptical of “X will rewire your brain” because it’s been wrong so often. I mean, Mortal Kombat didn’t rewire our brains and BDSM didn’t rewire our brains. But I’ll concede that “makeup will rewire your brain” is plausible enough to be worth examining. After all, a society where you and all of your friends wear makeup every time you go outside is different from a society where you play Mortal Kombat for a few hours on the weekend.

(And now this makes me think of that post about the lab rats that would only have sex while wearing jackets.)
