The war is boring at best and senseless at worst, generation after generation fed into the meat grinder to slow the Parasite advance and protect their homeworlds. No skilled pilot or daring general can single-handedly rewrite its course, and it will ultimately be won or lost over matters like supply lines and mass recruitment policies.
I have ideas for stories I want to do in this setting, but they’re just about people. People who fall in love, or leave home, or pursue a career, away from the front lines. People who live their lives, in spite of the knowledge that the Parasites may someday eradicate all evidence they ever existed.

I once read a review of the Desperate Housewives video game that claimed female gamers don’t want to be fed all the fun at once. They want a little fun, then a pause, then a little more fun, and the DH game is built around that. I think it’s bizarre to gender this, but it’s definitely a type of person.
Today I read a review of a Soulslike called Lies of P. It talks about how fighting the bosses can be tedious, but winning and proceeding to the next area gives you a rush. It says LoP is one of the few games that understands why Dark Souls is good.
Conclusion: Dark Souls is the same genre as Desperate Housewives.
