Now that I think about it, if “born with a penis; forced to perform a female gender role” is problematic, doesn’t that mean “born with a penis; forced to perform a male gender role” is also problematic?

For context, Bridget from Guilty Gear was originally written as a boy who was adopted into a religious order that’s normally all-female. In the latest game, Bridget identifies as female. There was a post saying this reinforces problematic tropes about predatory trans people who want to turn children trans.

Ah, that. Having seen some of the relevant content all over our dash without even looking for it we're pretty sure the game is not, in fact, playing into those tropes, and actually has nothing to do with them at all. we could uncharitably say that whoever made that claim is just desperately trying to turn their personal dislike of the game's direction into a moral problem with its writers but....... well we just did that so there's no point doing it again
