This is a fresh new answer to https://1d4chan.org/wiki/The_Orc_Baby_Dilemma. Lamias are taught to kill their own children rather than let them be captured by human invaders. They think of this as a way to protect their children from the horrors humans would inflict on them. Actuall, it's because the semi-divine entity controlling both sides wants humans to never doubt that killing lamias is the right thing to do, and humans might back down rather than kill a lamia child themselves.
