I tried to explain this elsewhere, but got told it was an "insane ramble." I'm reposting it to make sure I'm speaking intelligible English.

I think if there's any category X where you think X is cringe, there will never be a real person who you think is part of the subcategory "X, but not one of the cringe ones." You can talk about how there could theoretically be non-cringe X's, but every X you meet will just so happen to be one of the cringe ones. And this is true regardless of what value X has for you. Like if you think trans women are cringe, every trans woman you meet will be cringe. But if you think furries are cringe, every furry will be cringe to you. Does that make any sense?

(I know folks who've posted about how they keep parts of their blog locked so the people who currently think they're "the good ones" don't reconsider and say they're cringe. I'd say that qualifies as not actually knowing them.)

Yeah, I think I was able to follow that fine, even though my brain is a little frazzled right now!

"Cringe" is the term for... uh. Finding something/someone uncomfortable or embarrassing, like a way to describe the feeling inspired by what in the past may have been referred to as "lulcows", right?

This was not at all difficult to follow. It kinda sounds like that person defines "insane ramble" as "thing I disagree with".
