Feb. 16th, 2021 12:54 pmA former colleague told me once that I wasn't in high school anymore. I told him that was the biggest lie he'd ever told me. When the teacher/boss is patiently explaining the steps, and the steps they're giving are wrong and give you the incorrect number, and you try to explain what they're doing wrong, and they don't understand, and you try to show them the correct steps, and they still don't understand, and they're so patient, so understanding, why do you sound frustrated? Why aren't you patient, Feo? Don't you understand that the boss/teacher knows more than you? And even if you manage to convince them the number they're getting is incorrect, it still feels hollow, because even if the whole point of this exercise was supposed to be getting the correct answer, getting the wrong answer is a lesser offense than showing emotion.
