I keep getting blocked by the people where I agree with most of what they post, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten blocked by the racist blogs. Apparently, I’m more offensive to the people where I disagree with one or two posts than the people where I despise their whole worldview.

ETA: There is a certain blogger I respect more than anyone else on Tumblr. One time, he reblogged a post criticizing pagans who thought COVID was a divine punishment for evil old people. I reacted even more negatively to the idea of COVID as divine punishment than he did, and he got mad at me because he thought I was being bigoted against pagans. Someday, he’s going to decide I’m irretrievably bigoted and block me, and I am going to be despondent.

Thinking some more about my visual processing thing. My mother is much better at finding lost items than I am, and I think it’s because I’m not really looking at them. It’s more like I’m fact-checking. Are the keys on the bed? No. Are the keys on the nightstand? No. And then I walk right past the keys on the chair, because I didn’t think to check that fact.

But other people talk about not seeing lost items, and it sounds like they’re doing the same fact-checking thing I am. So what if there’s not a binary difference between people like me and people with proper visual processing? What if lots of people process visual information the way I do sometimes, and I’m just stuck in that mode more often than they are?

I’m not sure of everything it takes for me to hate a villain, but it seems to require a personal touch. I recently played a game where the villain ruined people’s lives on a grand scale out of boredom, and she felt like a child kicking an anthill. In this game, a minor villain talks about torturing a child for information she wasn’t even sure the kid had, and that managed to ignite my rage.
