Working something out in my head. Completely by accident, the species in Scrapyard Station would all have a different highest stat and a different lowest stat in D&D. It’s interesting how whenever I thought “what would make this species different from the ones I’ve already written?“ the differences I came up with were D&D differences. Like I’m so used to fiction that thinks in those terms, splitting things that way was what immediately came to mind without consciously thinking of it. I wonder what terms people thought in before D&D, when they were making up aliens for things like Sector General.
