Back when I played Arknights, I don’t think I ever really understood how to play. I was all about stopping the enemy from advancing for as long as possible, with defenders blocking them and healers supporting as casters and snipers rained down holy hell. I didn’t use guards, and the only specialists I bothered with were pushers and pullers for the obligatory cliff maps. I relied on decel binders at a time when they were considered underwhelming, and I tried to make chain casters viable before any of the buffs to alleviate their suckiness. It was a big surprise when Skullshatterer instakilled all my defenders, but I didn’t learn much from it as far as other tactical approaches.
