I’m starting to see the appeal of calling yourself a faggot. I just read a post that argued that whenever queer exclusionists say bigoted stuff about nonbinary people, transmascs consistently misinterpret it as bigoted stuff about transmascs, so they get angry, but they don’t get angry in a way that’s helpful for the nonbinary people that are actually being discriminated against. I think this is an accurate description of what happens, and I can concede that nonbinary people are genuinely being wronged here. But at the same time, it’s not like the religious whackjobs who present the biggest threat to us all know or care about any of that. All of us are faggots to them, so our position as faggots matters so much more than our position as transmascs or nonbinary or whatever.
