A Mortal Kombat realization

Kollector’s defining motivation is money. He was desperately impoverished in his youth, and his devotion to Shao Kahn is from no longer having to live that life. He’s constantly talking about taking money from people, collecting money for Shao Kahn, or selling people as slaves. His attacks involve a giant bag in which he stores all his possessions, and he has a special kill animation where he digs through his opponent’s organs to see which are worth selling.
What I’m trying to say is that in any other game, this character would almost certainly be written as a blatant Jewish stereotype, and yet in this game, he’s not Jewish-coded at all. That’s kind of impressive, in a way.

It's just, this is an incredibly common trope across the world, one that does not have a race; but some people on Twitter seemed to decide a few months ago that denouncing bribery & influence peddling was anti-Semitic. Amazing.
